A Short Best Poem On Time: The Train of Time

There are moments when time doesn’t feel like a silent, dead force moving above our heads. Instead, it feels like someone who is standing right in front of us with memories we didn’t ask for, gifts we didn’t expect, and lessons we weren’t prepared to learn. This Poem on Time: The Train of Time came out of one such moment for me. I wrote it while thinking about how life and time keep placing us at new stations (both bright and shadowed ones), and how each one brings a mix of celebration, longing, and responsibility.

When I look back now, I realize that time has never approached me empty-handed. It has brought peace and loss in the same breath, hope covered in struggle, and those strange gifts that only make sense so many years later. This poem about time is my attempt to capture that feeling; the way time steps toward us with a face we think we know, only to reveal something new when it finally speaks.

If you’ve ever paused in your own present moment and thought what time is trying to tell you, this piece is written for you.

Poem: The Train of Time

From the train of time

Landed a man,

On the station of the present.

Standing on the shadowy crescent

He introduced himself,

As the face of love

Blessed with the spring of celebration

Cursed with the tint of eternity.

Admired everyone,

His beauty and aura.

But when he spoke,

He gifted an arrow of hope,

Dipped in despair,

And a chain of struggle,

To the newlyweds.
